Clay Farm Development:
Virido Development
The archaeological excavation on Clay Farm looking east from Foster Road, to the
Guided Busway with excavations underway in the field to the east of Foster Road.
Oxford Archaeology East, 13 April 2011.
This is one of a series of pages about Clay Farm.

The central area of the Clay Farm development, between Foster Road and the busway, is being marketed as
Virido (Quad 21). This is a joint
development with Cambridge City Council which will include 208 homes and a number of small shop and office units adjacent to Hobson
Square. The application was approved in November 2014 (see the City Council
planning page and plan of Clay Farm). The area was part of
the Cambridge Green Belt until 2006 and farmland until 2007. There was an archaeological excavation in 2011-12, see
report and site visit.
