Glebe Farm: Public Art

Art project, 2014. London Fieldworks.

This is one of a series of pages about Glebe Farm .

London Fieldworks , the artists appointed to develop public art on the Glebe Farm site, s aw this as an opportunity to develop new narratives around ideas of ‘Ecological Enlightenment’. To reconnect humans with the natural environment, explore symbiotic relationships between humans and the natural environment and find alternative ecological models of human habitation.

In conjunction with the Wildlife Trust, they arranged a wildlife talk, dawn chorus walk, bat walk, moth trapping and release and a mini beast hunting session. T hese activities were open to the residents of Trumpington and form ed part of the wildlife survey and map for Trumpington. There w as also a Garden Habitats workshop making bird boxes and mini beast homes, which will be installed on Glebe Far m . In addition, a wildlife and community film will be created, involving local residents and using footage from habitat installations and local wildlife. London Fieldworks will hold a f inal e vent to celebrate the project, which will include a showing of the film in one of the open spaces on Glebe Farm. These activities have still not been completed in 2020.
